Pattern Testing: Dickey Collar & A Giveaway [CLOSED]!

*Giveaway is sponsored by Designer Stitch. Affiliate Link below. All opinions are my own.

UPDATE: Giveaway is closed! But if you are interested in checking out the pattern, please feel free to check out Designer Stitch

I worked with Ann from Designer Stitch again to test another cool pattern of hers! This time is the Dickey Collar. It is a faux collar bib that one wears under a sweater or T-shirt to fake a buttondown look, without all the weird pulling here and there if you know what I mean ;) The pattern comes in 4 cup sizes with plenty of collar options. I find myself gravitating towards the ruffled collar stand, so it was a no brainer to pick that view!

Fabric Choice, Cutting and Sewing

This was a super straight forward and satisfying sew. The pattern comes together quickly and is a perfect scrap buster! I didn't bother with a toile and went for it as my energy swings quite drastically these days. I used my precious Rashida Coleman Sparkles cotton fabric, with half a yard leftover from my qipao make from a couple years ago. For interfacing, instead of opting for fusible, I reused some muslin scraps I had laying around.

Size, Fit, and Adjustment Details

The sizing goes up to a 54" highbust and comes with 4 cup sizes (up to 59" at full bust). The pattern runs true to size, as I am a size 1 in her pattern drafts. No fiddly fitting or adjustments were needed for this make, so it was a super fast make!

Final Thoughts and Giveaway!

This small yet satisfying make was the reason why I touched the sewing machine again while my sewjo went on vacation. (Baby steps!) I love this fabric, and I'm so glad I got to use it again for a neat project like this. I even whipped out my precious moon buttons from Arrow Mountain, which happens to be the ONLY buttons in my small button stash that matches the fabric - it was meant to be!

The multiple options are so versatile and you can also add in lace or trims to take it to the next level - let your creativity take over!
