About Me

Hello, I'm Esther.

Growing up, you will find me dabbling in different kinds of crafting mediums, particularly mixed-media, texture-y, or 3D-shaped crafts. Sewing 2D pattern pieces into 3D shapes fits right into that niche. In March 2018, I finally bought myself a sewing machine and have been learning how to sew through online tutorials, books, patterns, and lots of research.

I'm currently on a mission to curate a me-made wardrobe. Why? Because, as a petite person, I was frustrated with ill-fitted and poor quality ready-to-wear clothes. And after learning about the environmental impact of the fashion industry on our beautiful planet, I wanted to explore ways to be nicer to this pale blue dot. Being sustainable, specifically in sewing, may mean something different to each person; I'm still trying to define what exactly that means to me and I'm sure its definition will change with time. Finally, I am going on this journey to find my style and find my confidence.

My goals are always to have the best fitting garment possible, learning different fitting/tailoring techniques, and always apply clean finishes! I tend to waffle on and off projects, giving myself time to ponder and research on a fitting problem.

Without further ado, welcome to my blog, where you will find my thought processes and lessons learned while I make--sewing garments in particular, and sometimes dabbling in other crafts. I promise to always present my honest thoughts - though I'm the type of person who likes to list pros and cons, tips and tricks, and lessons learned. I hope as I adventure through my sewing and making journey, you will find this blog helpful.
